Having fun time in Singapore with Tourist Visa

The number of Indians has traveling to Singapore has increased exponentially as the world’s fourth largest trading hub of the world is culturally and geographically close to you. It is just four hours away from Chennai.

Encompassing an area of 119 sq km, this city-state is considered to be the leading city of Southeast Asia because of its rich economy. Despite its small size, its cosmopolitan culture has made it a home Chinese, Indians, Arabs and Westerners. Owing to its status as a trading hub, Singapore has the best of luxury hotels, huge shopping malls, and promenades. Owing to its streamlined governance, Singapore has been flourishing not only trade but also in tourism.

Neighboring Malaysia, it has a tropical climate which is amenable to both tourist and business travelers alike throughout the year. The infrastructure of this island republic serves as a model for all its Asian counterparts. Civic authorities here ensure that the environment is clean and green.

From the time, one touches down at the Changi airport, Singapore Visa matches any top Western city in its neatness and efficiency. Skytrax rated it as the best airport in the world for the year 2016.

Coming to the city, it is said that one does not need to hail a cab. Public transportation is so efficient and walking is also a pleasure. A tour bus takes you trough all top attractions of the city. Once you enter the city, you are struck by its numerous parks and acres of greenery.

Though Singapore transformed itself from a nondescript island city to a burgeoning metropolis in the matter of only three decades, the administration ensured that this development did not mar its pristine environs. Visitors can unearth historical treasure troves from the past in its old buildings. Industrializations on a mass scale were instrumental in powering the economy of the city-state, which today has the second busiest port in the world, next only to Rotterdam.

All its public places are smoke-free and relatively less polluted than most urban centers of the world. The Colonial District is the hub of downtown Singapore, which is separated into enclaves, with each exuding its unique characteristics. Here, you can take a tour of Little India, Arab Quarter and Chinatown. These are all shoppers’ delights.

Its east coast is a gastronome’s delight as there are any numbers of seafood restaurants sitting pretty along the sandy beaches. Greater Singapore area houses more than fifty islands and islets, which are all accessible.

Nightlife on this city-state is comparable to that of any Western city. From what used to be a transit stop between larger cities of yore, it has dwarfed all of them now. One of the most charming aspects of this city is how the Western type of development is embraced by its Eastern environs. It is also one of the safest places in Asia, where you hardly get intimidated. Being a multicultural city, 25 percent of its residents are foreigners from all over the world, including Indians, Arabs, and others from rest of the world, who all intermingle with one another seamlessly.

Because of these diverse cultures, Singapore has developed its own, unique culture. But irrespective of their original race or culture, all the citizens of this city-state consider themselves as Singaporeans. The British colonial influence lingers in the background of the city where there are classical buildings dating back to the times when they ruled.

Although the population of the city is just about 5.6 million, it is also home to various religions too such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Taoism, Confucianism, etc.  Despite all of this, religious tolerance is encouraged in Singapore. Keeping in nature with its plural nature, the country has four official languages in Mandarin, English, Malay and Tamil. But being a modern city, English is the most commonly used language in schools, in business and in public life.

To enter Singapore, one is required to procure a Singapore Tourist Visa. This is a short-term visa that allows visitors to stay in the country for a stipulated period of time. Even people who want to enter Singapore to meet their friends and relatives should apply for this visa.  This single-entry visa does not allow its holders to venture into any business dealings while they are in Singapore.

To be eligible for Singapore Tourist Visa, you need to have a passport whose validity should be for six moths more than the visa’s duration you are applying for; you need to have a copy of your completed visa application form, a copy of the Letter of Introduction for Visa Application issued to you by your local agent in Singapore.
